Dave Field's Internet Vagabonds Trio

During the Covid lockdown, Tom Forsythe found a program that deals with latency and allows musicians to play together online. Tom on guitar, Dave Field on bass and Bob Brough on saxophone set up daily sessions that continue to this day.

They have built up a vast jazz repertoire (bebop, jazz standards, latin, free jazz). Now that live music is back they are grateful to be able to share their improvisational talent with an audience!

All three have have long careers as professional musicians in the GTA. Dave has played with Canadian greats such as Lenny Breau, Phil Nimmons and Jim Galloway as well as with renowned artists such as Chet Baker, George Coleman, and James Moody. Bob is a much respected tenor saxophonist, leading his own quartet as well as playing with many local groups such as The Jive Bombers and Barbara Jordan Swing Septet, and international stars such as Tony Bennett and Natalie Cole.

Dr.Tom Forsythe is a jazz guitarist/saxophonist and recent PhD graduate of York University’s Music department. Having retired as an educator he now focuses on his professional music career playing with such as Tommy Ambrose, David Braid and Adrian Farrugia.

Laura Hubert at The Rex

Canadian vocal treasure, born and raised in Toronto, Laura Hubert has remained a steady force on the city’s music scene over the past 25 years. Although she retired from rock and roll back per se when JUNO-winning indie-rock group Leslie Spit Treeo split up late last millennium, for several decades now she has been singing her soulful interpretations of vintage blues, jazz and Western swing all over the Greater Toronto Area. “I want to participate in the joy of the world, try to keep it light,” says Hubert. “Just trying to have some fun. Sing some songs. Make some music. Give some joy.”

Bob Brough with Alan Cohen

Tracey, Alan, Bob, and Ted have played together countless times over the years, but rarely all together, at the same time, in the SAME GROUP! That is until now…..

Their collective musical experience creates a unique energy that you can hear and feel in the music they play, from R&B to Blues to the Great American Songbook.
